[ May, 2022 Newsletter ]
Dear friends,

This is a quick note as things are pretty hectic right now in the middle of our preparations for our trip and so many exciting things happening at the same time!!! Soon we will send you a schedule of some of the places where we will be speaking and hopefully, we’ll get to see you there!

So just in case you missed our last newsletter, we are traveling back to the States soon. Our itinerary is May 26 ~ July 7th. We are very grateful for your generous contributions. We received about 80% of our airfare in just a month! We can’t wait to see you and spend some time together.

Thankfully everyone is well. Last month we celebrated our 21st anniversary! The number of meetings and responsibilities keeps growing but that’s only because God is bringing growth and expansion to His Kingdom in Nagasaki. Our kids have been actively involved by helping us create a culture of good interaction between people of all ages, thus creating a warm sense of family.  Joshua and Dominique have been working part-time as they plan for their future. They play bass and guitar and sing during worship. Joshua taught a class on “how to study the Bible” last week and had great feedback. They all help greatly with Serenity, who is also a great evangelist. We are always meeting new people because of her  😀

After many conversations and much prayer, Fabio’s parents will be moving to Japan. They are retired and agreed that it would be good to live closer. They are no youngsters but with so much going on here, it will definitely be helpful to have some extra hands! Please pray for their trip, visas, and all the other documentation needed to wrap up things in Brazil.

Through a series of events (that we will share with you in more detail soon), we have finally made a decision that we have been praying for and also surrendering to the Lord over and over again, and now we believe it is time to step out in faith: We will be taking steps towards the purchase of a building right in the heart of Nagayo!

WHAT! We know it sounds freaky… Last month, when Pastor Yuya and Pastor Masami came for a visit, they also visited the location of the building and were able to talk with the realtor.

Another cool thing is that Pastor Tsutada said he looked at that same building 5 years ago and according to him, the price they are asking now is only ONE-THIRD of what they were asking for then.

There are still some steps to take and we have not made an official offer, since we don’t have much to offer! We are working on a few things and will share more details in the next few days. *Just in case God has already been putting on your heart to donate big towards establishing a place of worship in an unchurched town, let us know! That would be our downpayment as soon as we have the funds! We’ll be sharing more details and numbers soon.

Life in Nagasaki hasn’t gotten dull even for a minute since we arrived! But it’s exciting to see that He keeps surprising us, even in our “free time”, by putting us in the right place at the right time to meet the right people. More on this later  😀

He is amazing. He is beautiful. He loves people. He loves Nagayo.

During the time we are in the states, the worship meetings will still be held at our house, and we are grateful for the people that will be sharing the message and for every single person that is working together to pull these meetings together every week. When we think we can’t fit anyone else, we get surprised. Last week we managed to fit 35 people! That was a big jump from our average 25.

From the first missionaries that came 500 years ago to the ones that were here just before us, could this be the time to establish a place of worship to the King of Kings once and for all in Nagayo? We are no better than those that came before us but we believe there is always a time for sowing and a time for reaping. We are believing that God will honor all those that faithfully sowed in this land before us.

The other day, Fabio received a message, “…Please come quickly to Nagayo”. That reminded us of Acts 16 when Paul had a vision of man begging: Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

Thank you for moving forward and believing with us! Thank you for your prayers:

For unity, for provision, for open doors. For each family, marriage and child. For those that He has brought to our group to be healed, restored, and serve together. For our intercessors and financial supporters. For the salvation of many in Nagayo, in Nagasaki.

ISAIAH 54: 2“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. 3For you will spread out to the right and to the left;…

JOSHUA 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Fellowship after the meeting. People of all ages interacting. Becoming family.

The kids often don’t even know how instrumental they are being in God’s hands. Love heals.

We play and serve together as a family,  but this culture is vital for us: Bible time together!

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
